Welcome.
This is a site about traveling to Ireland and getting the most out of the experience: meeting people, tramping the countryside, exploring ancient monuments, visiting out-of-the-way places and staying off the tourist trails, sampling food and drink, listening to stories and music, and learning about the old-time— and present-day— Irish culture.
For almost two decades I have been hosting small groups in the Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking regions) of Ireland, mostly along the west coast. While I have also guided larger groups, I much prefer the small group of six to eight eager and curious travelers. I've hosted groups of varying sizes that have ventured into the Gaeltachts of Munster and Connaght, the Aran Islands, Dublin, Cork and environs, Cape Clear Island, and even a group to Scotland in '05.
But far and away the favorite of all these has been the Celtic Traveler's flag-ship trip to the Dingle Peninsula. This is the one that people come back for, time and again. It is certainly one of the most beautiful places on our planet, and I feel fortunate to be able to call it my second home. No one is unaffected by a visit to the Corca Dhuibhne (the Irish name of the region).
In addition to regularly scheduled trips, I also arrange for and host special-date groups, such as families, musicians, clubs, organizations, and colleges and universities.
I hope you enjoy browsing through my site. I'll be adding cultural materials and images from time to time and you're more than welcome to stop in and take a look.
All the best!
